I may be the last person to the fresh juice party but now that I’m there I’m kicking up my heels.
It all started when I was in California visiting a friend and we pulled out her very cool juicer and made a pitcher of the most delicious mix of practically everything in the crisper. Carrots, celery, cucumbers, a Costco-sized container of spinach, ginger, oranges, apples, and limes all went in and out came this liquid that at first, judging from the color, made me a bit skeptical but oh how it tasted like the freshest garden in a glass imaginable. I snagged this photo from my Instagram because it was just that lovely.
When I got back to Boise, I was still thinking about that pitcher of juice so some friends graciously offered to let me borrow their juicer. Because I knew I only had it for a limited time, I wanted to make up a big batch plus I’d noticed that juicers aren’t exactly the easiest thing to clean. Definitely didn’t seem like something I’d want to tackle each morning before work but how else could I get my juice fix?
How to clean the juicer less
Let’s put that ice cube tray to work! I am so glad that when I got an ice maker in the fridge that I didn’t get rid of my ice cube trays because they are handy for so many things and I just found yet another use. Freeze the fresh pressed juice into cubes and then add them to a smoothie anytime. Viola! And that’s how to clean the juicer less while enjoying fresh pressed juice more. Cheers to that!
